Medalist Megan Thiravong - 26 - Rochelle
RTHS Junior Megan Thiravong is the champion this year at the Interstate 8 Conference Golf Tournament held yesterday at the Fairways Golf Course in Rochelle.
Megan shot a 76 which was 5 shots better that Faith Malloy of Plano. Thiravong is the first girls golfer at RTHS to win a conference tournament.
Megan was the only golfer from RTHS in the tournament. The team title went to Sandwich with a 378. That was 21 shots better than Plano (399).
Kaneland (406) finished in 3rd place followed by LaSalle-Peru (435) and Ottawa (441). Morris and Sycamore also did not have a full team. Reported by Jeff Leon for www.wrhl.net
